Augmented reality trumps virtual worlds: Google Trends and our prediction markets

In 2011 augmented reality took more of our mindshare than did virtual worlds, according to players in a NITLE prediction market.

For the past three months, players (or traders) have considered which of the two architectures was more widely discussed.  Opinions veered at times, but the overall arc favored one, as you can see from this snapshot:
